Year 5 'Evacuee' Trip
Last week, the children from Year 5 experienced a day in the life of a World War II evacuee. They came to school in full evacuee attire and boarded an old steam train at Sherringham, travelling to Holt. From the moment they arrived at the station, the children joined the actors in role to experience fully what life was like in 1940. Activities included making a rationed lunch, spotting enemy aircraft and carrying out daily chores. The children were thoroughly enthused and have not stopped talking about the trip since they have returned to 2015!
