Year 5 Camping
As part of our 'Survival' topic, Year 5 spent 2 nights camping our on our school fields. We learned how to erect a tent, catch wild animals and whittle sticks. During our day camps, we learned how to us a bow and arrow (Archery) and a compass in orienteering. In the afternoon, we made our own campfires (some more successful that others) and used these for cooking apples, bananas and fish. In order to prepare the fish for cooking, we had to gut it and spike it on a stick. The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and learned a range of new and exciting skills.
