Maple Class SAW Project
On 9th May, Maple class were joined by a scientist, a writer and an artist who organised a SAW project. This was linked fantastically with our topic and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They learned how to make potatoes float in salt water and considered the effects of oil on natural water. They wrote their own poems, stimulated by a range of underwater photographs. In the afternoon, children used a marbling technique to create an underwater scene and did observational drawings of shells. They explored nature through mixed media and natural materials.
